Sparkleberry Country Fair Will Not Continue in 2020

During a meeting held on Tuesday, April 11th, the Sparkleberry Country Fair Board voted to discontinue the fair, which had been held annually on the last Saturday of April. Following the 2018 fair, the property that hosted the fair over the past 23 years became unavailable. After an exhaustive search of Richland County, the board was unable to find a suitable replacement location. Many possible locations were explored, but none met the minimum requirements needed to safely operate the fair.

"We had a great run over the past 23 years,” said Fair Chairman Bill McCracken. “We raised over $900,000.00 for the Richland Two School District, made a lot of new friends, and had fun in the process."

The Class of 2019 scholarship recipients will be the last for the Sparkleberry Country Fair, and remaining funds will be donated to the Richland Two Foundation, to be used for teacher grants.

The Sparkleberry Country Fair Board extends its gratitude to the Northeast Richland County community for supporting the Fair over the past 23 years.
